Look at this tree!👀
The trees are budding!

]]>We also spoke about the qualities of sounds. Which sounds are loud, and which are quiet? Also, what emotions do sounds evoke? After asking about students' favorite sounds, we listened to some music to see what kind of emotions it brought up.

Student’s picked times for when they normally do things! For example , Yuzuha yelled out “I wake up at 5:30am” every day! So everyone made the time with their hands as if they were human clocks.
Let’s all do our best, see you next “time”!

]]>We began by looking at our clothes, "What kinds of patterns and materials do you see?" We learned the names of some common patterns and materials. We checked the tags of our coats and sweaters to see what they were made of.
Following patterns and materials, we also learned about some styles of fashion, such as formal and casual. Putting these three elements together, the class began to design their own outfits.

]]>The results are in!
We all had a finding the perfect position for the shots.
We used everyone’s ideas and made some quality illusions.
Great job everyone!
-Anthony
To finish off the class, we first rehearsed, and then each student presented his or her workshop project before the class.
Introducing themselves, then describing their animal creation, the students described how they put the pieces of the design together.

We spent some time attempting to recreate images we studied with the students direction and suggestion and had some interesting results!
The point of the lesson is to see how to create an illusion of perspective. Students figured it out right away and were eager to try it!
We all did our best and had some silly photos.

]]>Last week we learned about tools that break apart, like the woodsaw that cut out the blocks of wood we are using. Today we looked at tools that bind together: hammers, nails, screws, and screwdrivers.
Finishing the last touches on coloring our animal characters, we used one other binding tool to build onto our blocks: wood glue.
The students attached bits of cardboard, string, and other pieces of wood to make ears, tails, and even feet to stand.

We looked for hidden animals in the jungle. Some students saw many things others couldn’t. They reported the animals they saw after the group tests.
Then we made sentences to describe and inform everyone which animals we found. “I see an elephant in this picture!” said one student.
Finally everyone discovered all the animals hidden in the illusion. A very productive and fun way to end a day of learning.
